The Free Syrian Army has no plans to enter into a dialogue with President Bashar Assad. It believes its conflict with his regime cannot be resolved by means other than force.
“There is no solution with this regime through negotiation. This (conflict) will not be settled other than by force,” Brigadier Selim Idris, head of a military command, told reporters on the sidelines of a Friends of Syria conference that opened in Istanbul.
“Maybe in its final stages, when the regime feels it has lost everything, it might want to negotiate for its exit”, he said.
The Friends of Syria are a group of Western and Muslim nations which tend to side with the Syrian rebels.
