BELGRADE – Agency for restitution has made a decision to return villa in Uzicka 1 street, known as Villa “Crnogorka”, to princess Jelisaveta Karadjordjevic, heir of princess Olga.
The decision, according to media, will become final on Wednesday, June 26.
“Officials from the Agency for restitution did not want to comment on the information on Friday. Network for restitution officials are also silent. Princess Jelisaveta, to whom this was the first real estate that was returned to her, was stunned by the news,” media reported.
The Ambassador of Montenegro is currently residing in the villa “Crnogorka”. The villa was owned by the Republic of Serbia, and “Dipos” company was managing it. The villa is 875 square meters, it has a yard and a garden of 6,846 square meters, small pool, mosaics and fontains.
Princess Olga bouth the villa in 1940, it was taken from her in August 1947, and after the war Edward Kardelja was residing in the villa.
