BEOGRAD – Over EUR 150,000 has been collected in a single day via the PayPal account opened by the Serbian government through the Embassy in Belgium to help flood relief efforts, Zoran Torbica of the Internet Development Center told Tanjug.
However, he underlined that the legal regulations should be changed so that the payments could be made in foreign currencies rather than just in dinars.
As of Monday, donations for the flood victims in Serbia can be made via PayPal from 193 countries and regions.
Donations can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The PayPal account belongs to the Serbian diplomatic mission in Brussels, and the money will be transferred directly to a bank account set up by the Serbian government to collect aid for the flood victims, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement.
