SKOPJE – Tens of tons of humanitarian aid donated by Macedonian citizens headed today to flooded areas in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonian media reported.
As the Red Cross said in a statement, in a campaing for collecting aid, until yesterday at 5 p.m., at checkpoints in Skopje was donated 20 tons of food, 10 tons of hygiene products, 60 thousand gallons of water, thousand blankets, a tone of baby food, 3 tons of milk, 10 tons of clothing, thousand pairs of shoes.
With over the phone donations was collected about EUR 59,000. Funds raised by telephone will be paid on May 31 to the account of Solidarity Fund for Aid to Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Collection of aid will continue in the coming days.
