PRISTINA – Kosovo immigrants, who fled the country in the last winter, are being sent back from the EU zone, Gazeta Express reports. So far, more than six thousand immigrants have been returned to Kosovo.
The number is also confirmed by the Immigration Officer from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Valon Krasniqi.
“Germany has the largest number of returnees, almost every week, new immigrants are sent back. Since Jaunary 1st, around six thousand immigrants are sent back. Compared to last year’s numbers, it is a much higher number of returnees”, said Krasniqi.
According to him, around 100 immigrants will be sent back on May 26, from EU countries, and another return was also announced to take place in June.
By the end of the last year, and the first months of 2015, thousands of Kosovo citizens chose the road to immigration to EU countries. Most of them crossed the borders illegally, through Hungary and the largest number of immigrants chose Germany to pursue a better life.
