KOSOVSKA MITROVICA – Leader of the Citizens’ Initiative SDP Oliver Ivanovic was transferred to a hospital in Kosovska Mitrovica on Friday afternoon, after eight days of hunger strike in remand prison in the northern Kosovo city, Tanjug learned at the health care institution.


Director of the Health Center in Kosovska Mitrovica Milan Ivanovic told Tanjug that Oliver Ivanovic had been admitted there at 5.35 p.m..

Oliver Ivanovic started the hunger strike in the Kosovska Mitrovica detention unit on August 7, requesting that he be released while a trial against him is ongoing before the international trial chamber of the Mitrovica Basic Court.

Ivanovic, who has been in remand custody since January 27, 2014, is charged with committing a war crime against the civilian population in April 1999 and with incitement to commit aggravated murder in February 2000.
