PRISTINA – Around 110 thousand people from Kosovo fled the country at the end of 2014 and the beginning of this year, marking the largest influx from Kosovo. Kosovo Ministry of Internal Affairs officials announced that only 16 thousand were returned, Gazeta Express reported.
Sefedin Kuci from the department for citizenship, asylum and migration said that despite their return, MIA does not have any responsibility towards them.
In the mean time, Kosovo has also seen a small number of asylum seekers. According to Kuci, 70 people, mainly from Syria and Iraq are placed in the migrants shelter in Magure, Lipjan.
