KOSOVSKA MITROVICA – Eight passenger vehicles were damaged in a blast that rocked northern Kosovska Mitrovica early Monday. No one was injured in the blast. An explosive device, most likely a hand grenade, was thrown shortly after 3 a.m.
The explosion shattered some of the ground floor windows, unsettling the residents.
The Kosovo Police arrived on the scene to investigate the incident. The perpetrator and the motive of the attack remain unknown.
Mitrovica North Mayor Goran Rakic condemned in the strongest terms Monday morning’s bomb attack in Kosovska Mitrovica and urged the police to find the perpetrators.
Rakic told Tanjug that acts of violence were unacceptable and as such deserved to be severely condemned.
“Those who are behind this attack want to destabilize the situation in the city. I hope that the police will make every effort to find and punish those responsible,” said Rakic.
