BELGRADE – Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said Tuesday that news about countries in the region equipping their armies with new weapons would “certainly require Serbia to respond.”

“This is totally contrary to the global trend towards disarmament,” Dacic told reporters in Belgrade.

Dacic added that he had discussed the issue with NATO representatives and the secretary general of the alliance, Jens Stoltenberg.

“It would certainly require Serbia’s answer,” Dacic said.
