BELGRADE – The 29th Belgrade Marathon will be held on April 16, featuring a record number of competitors, Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali announced on Tuesday.
“The Belgrade Marathon is one of the events that make the city recognisable not only in this part of Europe, but around the world as well. At this time, we already have 2,000 registered contestants for this year’s marathon, and that is four times more than at the same time last year,” Mali told a press conference in the Old Court.
That means that the upcoming event will feature a record number of competitors in the marathon and half-marathon races and the Pleasure Race, he said.
This year, the millionth participant of the Belgrade Marathon will receive an award – a silver cup, the mayor said.
