BELGRADE – Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik said on Tuesday that there is a very real threat of terrorism in Bosnia in Herzegovina (BiH), which has a growing Wahhabi population.

Quoting figures from intelligence communities, he told TV Pink that an estimated 3,400 BiH residents are believed to be capable of carrying out terrorist attacks.

Around 500 people have already joined the Islamic State and some of them are now returning to the BiH, he said.

Many have tried to conceal the fact that the murder of a police officer in Zvornik, Republika Srpska, was an act of terrorism, Dodik said.

Since the war, 1,100 mosques have been built in BiH, and in Sarajevo alone, the number of mosques is now dramatically higher, he said.

“In the new part of Sarajevo, there is a mosque built by a prince from Saudi Arabia that is a gathering place for wahhabis,” Dodik noted.
