MOKRA GORA – The screening of Matteo Garrone’s Tale of Tales at Damned Yard cafe in Drvengrad marked the start of the 9th edition of Kustenodorf International Film and Music Festival, which is being held under the slogan “Geese will save film.”
Festival organizer Emir Kusturica said that the meaning of the geese symbolism in his life was derived from the Gypsy mythology, according to which “geese flew the Gypsies over the ocean. ”
“That is a metaphor I frequently use in my films,” the famous director added.
A total of 17 films by young directors from Bulgaria, China, Croatian, Hungary, Iceland, Iran, Mexico, Palestine, Russia, Serbia and Spain will be screened as part of the competition program until January 27.
The festival also features the Contemporary Trends, Decolonizing Cinema and Retrospective of Greatness film programs, an exhibition and concerts.
