BELGRADE – The Serbia men’s national water polo team beat Slovakia 10-5 (3-3, 3-1, 2-1, 2-0) Saturday to reach the quarter-finals of the European Water Polo Championship in Belgrade.

In front of 11,000 spectators at the Kombank Arena, Serbia justified the role of favourites and now awaits Monday, when it will face the winner of the match between Germany and Russia.

As many as four Serbian players scored a brace each – Dusko Pijetlovic, Milan Aleksic, Filip Filipovic and Andrija Prlainovic, with Martin Famera also scoring two goals for Slovakia.
