BELGRADE – Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday he would be dissatisfied with any other result except a GDP growth of at least 2 percent in 2016, and at least 3 percent in 2017.

“Our goal is to keep the public finances under control so that Serbia is never again close to a default, to reduce our public debt and ensure a GDP growth of at least 2 percent,” the prime minister said in an interview to the broadcaster Pink.

A difficult, good and successful year lies ahead of Serbia, he noted, adding that he expected problems concerning “political contamination”, but this would pass by May at the latest, when a provincial election should be held.

“Then, we will have time to work for our citizens,” Vucic said.
