THE HAGUE – The trial chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) said on Thursday that it will announce the verdict in the trial of Radovan Karadzic on March 24.

Karadzic was arrested in July 2008 after years of hiding under the alias of “Dr. Dabic” and was extradited to the Tribunal a week later.

Karadzic is charged with genocide, complicity in genocide, extermination, murder, persecution, deportation, inhumane acts and other crimes against Muslims, Croats and other non-Serb civilians during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
