BELGRADE – The plane carrying the remains of the two employees of the Serbian Embassy in Libya, Sladjana Stankovic and Jovica Stepic, arrived in Belgrade at 7:25 p.m. on Tuesday.
The plane arrived from Istanbul, where the corpses were transported from Tripoli by a Maltese airliner.
The Libyan autopsy documentation does not state the cause of the deaths of the Serbian Embassy staffers, but rather lists and describes their numerous wounds, Serbia’s national broadcaster RTS reports.
Another autopsy will be done in Belgrade.
Sladjana Stankovic and Jovica Stepic were abducted in November last year, and died in U.S. airstrikes on an Islamic State base near the Libyan city of Sabratha several days ago.
