BELGRADE – Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Saturday met with new US Ambassador Kyle Scott, who said that the US sees Serbia as a pillar of regional stability and fully supports the reform process in the country and its European integration path.


Vucic highlighted Serbia’s commitment and readiness to achieve the foreign policy objective of becoming an EU member and work on preserving regional stability through dialogue, the government press office said in a statement.

Scott noted that today Serbia is perceived in the US as a pillar of stability in the Western Balkans and that he has been authorised by the US president to offer full support to the Serbian government in the reform process and on the European integration path, the statement said.

Scott said that, by bringing in new US investors and backing the fight against corruption, he will help Serbia achieve economic growth, and also praised the country’s humane approach to the migrant crisis.
