BELGRADE – Serbia is seeking official information from Turkey concerning the recent Turkish media reports about the alleged engagement of Serbian snipers on the side of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK),as well as the arrest of a Serbian agent in the town of Suruc.


The Serbian foreign ministry said in a release that Turkey had been asked to take measures to stop the negative media campaign against the Republic of Serbia that had been launched in the country.

The requests had been addressed to the Turkish side to prevent the negative consequences for Serbia’s reputation and overall bilateral relations, reads the release.

Serbian Ambassador to Turkey Danilo Vucetic was called to discuss the matter at the Turkish foreign ministry on Wednesday.

In relation to the same matter, Turkish Ambassador to Serbia Mehmet Kemal Bozay was invited to the Serbian foreign ministry.
