LONDON – Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday the building of a highway between Nis and Pristina should start as soon as possible and dubbed it a “highway of peace” that would connect Serbs and ethnic Albanians in a good way.

“This would be a highway of peace and I believe it will be the best tie between Belgrade and Pristina, and we are calling on the EBRD to help us in that,“ Vucic said in his address to the Western Balkans Investment Summit in London.

Extending thanks to the EBRD for its assistance so far, Vucic said Serbia expected stronger support from the international community, but also the EU and other European countries, but did not expect “anyone to waste piles of money on us”, but rather assist us in the reform process, providing backing for a better education, as well as political support.

  1. This highway is being built for NATO – so NATO can send its weapons, tanks, soldier from the port of Durres up to Nis – and then further to the Black Sea.
The titles for these are always Orwellian. The Serbian government works for foreign organizations and countries, NOT for the Serbian people.
