BELGRADE – A memorial service was held Wednesday for soldiers killed in the 1999 NATO aggression against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the Serbian Armed Forces (SAF) said in a statement.
The service, held in the St George chapel at the Banjica 2 barracks in Belgrade, was attended by the SAF Chief of Staff, General Ljubisa Dikovic, and Collegium members.
The names of the fallen are read aloud for us to remember them in our prayers, Captain Sladjan Vlajic, the chief military priest, said in a speech after the service.
“We are on spiritual watch here today. By keeping watch together here, we are not letting oblivion descend on those who have built their lives into freedom,” he said.
