BELGRADE – The Serbian government on Thursday relieved the director of the national electric power company EPS Aleksandar Obradovic of his duty, the government press office said in a statement.

In an appearance on the RTS two days ago, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic announced the dismissal of a director of a public enterprise who has failed to comply with the government-proclaimed austerity measures by purchasing two Audi cars.

Obradovic was appointed as EPS director in early October 2014 after serving as acting director from September 6, 2012.

He had been selected in a public competition from among over 70 strong candidates.
