BELGRADE – Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic received on Monday U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott who told him that he had got instructions from the American administration to continue providing strong support to Serbia in its EU integration process.

Scott, who has just returned from Washington, conveyed to Vucic the American stance on the forthcoming elections, and expectations that the Serbian government would continue implementing the reforms needed to reach the criteria for EU membership.

In the meeting, the Serbian prime minister and the American diplomat considered regional and other international issues, including Serbia’s decisive role in promoting regional stability and better relations in the Western Balkans, the government’s press office said in a release.

They also considered the steps forward that had been made in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, underscoring that for the process to succeed the agreements reached so far should be implemented.

Ambassador Scott commended Serbia’s constructive and responsible role in the migrant crisis.
