KOPAONIK – The investigation into the deaths of the two Serbian embassy staffers in Libya is under way, U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott said on Tuesday, voicing hope that it would arrive at some conclusions soon.

However, it takes time, Scott said, noting that all facts before and after the airstrike on the base of the so-called Islamic State were being investigated.

The situation in Libya is very chaotic. The investigation into what really happened is still under way. It is difficult to establish the facts, but we will not rest until we find out the full truth about this, Scott told Tanjug on the sidelines of the Kopaonik Business Forum.

The two embassy employees, Sladjana Stankovic and Jovica Stepic, held hostage since November last year were killed in U.S. airstrikes on an Islamic State base near the Libyan city of Sabratha on February 19.
