PRELJINA – Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic arrived in Preljina, central Serbia, at around 2 pm Monday after the town was flooded and some residents evacuated earlier in the day.

Vucic announced an urgent government session for Tuesday and assistance for flood-hit areas.

“I do not want to make false promises, but we will help as much as we can,” Vucic told a group of Preljina residents.

The Cemernica River flooded around 500 households in the Konjevci and Preljinska Baluga villages in the morning and 420 people have been evacuated so far.
