BELGRADE – The Serbian parliament appointed on Wednesday Zoran Djordjevic, who previously served as state secretary at the defence ministry, as defence minister.

In today’s roll-call vote, 165 MPs were in favour of his appointment, and eight against.

After the election, Djordjevic took an oath of office.

Djordjevic replaced Bratislav Gasic who was relieved of his post on February 5 over a sexist comment he made to a female reporter.
