Albanian boxer bites Serb, ends almost knocked out

BELGRADE – A match between Serbian boxer Andrej Pesic and Austrian of Albanian origin Astrit Klimenta in Munich was supposed to be a good fight, however it was turned into scandal, writes Serbian daily “Vecernje Novosti”.

According to Austrian media, Klimenta behaved shamefully in the ring, continuously using illegal means because he could not win, and at one point he attacked Pesic and bit him.

The judge reacted immediately and disqualified him, and Pesic’s manager Aleksandar Petkovic entered the ring and requested an apology.

Klimenta refused to apologize, began to argue and managed to punch Petkovic, but Petkovic stroke back and almost knocked Klimenta out.

Austrian media pointed out that Klimenta should receive a draconian punishment and a long ban.
