Dinar remains steady against euro

BELGRADE – The dinar remained practically steady against the euro on Wednesday after the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) sold EUR 35 million on the interbank foreign exchange market to curb daily exchange rate fluctuations, making the official medium exchange rate RSD 122.9064, the NBS said in a statement.

The national currency rose by 0.1 percent against the eurozone currency compared to a month ago, dropping by 2.3 percent compared to a year ago.

The dinar-to-dollar indicative exchange rate rose by 0.5 percent to RSD 108.0021.

The dinar rose by 0.7 percent against the US currency compared to a month ago and by 3.2 percent compared to a year ago.

The central bank has sold a total of EUR 680 million and sold EUR 10 million on the interbank foreign exchange market since the beginning of the year to curb daily exchange rate fluctuations.
