TEHRAN – Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic met with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani in Tehran Sunday and agreed with him that following the lifting of sanctions against Iran earlier in 2016, there were no longer any obstacles to deepening cooperation between two countries.

Nikolic and Rohani concluded that Serbia and Iran would benefit from cooperation in the fields of energy and agriculture, and Rohani said that Iran was interested in cooperation in the field of tourism.

According to a relese from the Serbian president’s press office, Nikolic should also meet with Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari and attend the opening of the 5th Symposium of World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies today.
