BELGRADE – Serbia’s capital has become one of the best cities of the world, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said after a ceremony of laying the foundation stone for a Hilton hotel in Belgrade on Sunday.

The cornerstone laying ceremony marked the beginning of work on a 250-room property of one of the most famous hotel chains in the world, expected to significantly contribute to developing Belgrade’s tourism offer.

Addressing those attending the ceremony, Vucic said that he was happy to see a Hilton hotel being built in Belgrade, calling it a sign that showed Belgrade and Serbia were changing to the better.

“The best cities in the world have a Hilton and Belgrade is becoming such a city. Every (Serbian) citizen should be proud as this is a sign of trust, and without trust there would be no Hilton in Belgrade,” said Vucic.
