MADRID – The world’s number one tennis player Novak Djokovic reached the final at the Madrid Open, after defeating Kei Nishikori of Japan 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).

The Serbian tennis player needed one hour and 40 minutes, and two breaks for this triumph, one in each set.

In his bid for the trophy, Djokovic will play Andy Murray of the UK who outplayed Rafael Nadal of Spain 7-5, 6-4.

Djokovic has a 22-9 lead in his head-to-head career record against Murray, and he won 11 out of their last 12 matches.
