OSTROG – Film director Emir Kusturica was presented with the Order of the Holy Despot Stefan Lazarevic at the Monastery of Ostrog, Montenegro, on Thursday, for his expressions of respect for the Church and the saints, especially at a time when Orthodox Christianity and the entire Christian culture are under attack, Podgorica-based media outlets reported.

Kusturica arrived at Ostrog in the company of members of the Night Wolves, the world’s largest motorcycle club.

The Ostrog Monastery today celebrated the feast day of St. Basil of Ostrog and thousands of believers from Montenegro, the region and the world, kissed the relics of the saint, which are kept in a small church dedicated to the Presentation of the Virgin Mary, in the Upper Monastery.
