BASEL – Kosovo football clubs will be playing in next season’s Champions League (CL) and Europa League (EL) qualifications, the Executive Committee of European football’s governing body UEFA decided in Basel on Wednesday.

Kosovo was given two qualification spots, which means that reigning champions Feronikeli will start their campaign in the first round of the CL qualifications, with the cup winner to play in the EL qualifications.

Earlier in the day, UEFA postponed the decision on including the Kosovo national team in the qualifications for the 2018 World Cup in Russia and set up a special commission to deal with the issue.

Kosovo was admitted to FIFA last Friday after also being voted into the UEFA.
