BELGRADE – Over 100 newlyweds uttered their eternal “yes” in a collective wedding event in Belgrade’s downtown on Sunday.
The annual Belgrade Collective Wedding event has been organized in front of the Old Palace in Belgrade’s dowtown since 1999.
After tying the knot in the presence of their families and friends and many lookers-on who enjoyed watching the traditional event, the 110 newlyweds paraded down the streets of the downtown to the famous bohemian Skadarska Street.
Deputy Mayor of Belgrade Andreja Mladenovic wished the couples a lot of happinness, good health and many children to come their way, adding that the Collective Wedding event, which had started in difficult circumstances, was now one of the beatufiul pictures of our capital city.
Tivi Melcev, the manager of the Collective Wedding event, said a few days ago that the event marked the start of the first day in marriage to over 3,500 wedding pairs to date.
