BELGRADE – The Western Balkan region is exceptionally significant for the UK, British Ambassador to Serbia Denis Keefe said at a meeting with Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Friday, adding that he wanted Serbia to be a country with noticeable security, stability, prosperity and reforms.
He noted the policy of Vucic’s government was leading in that direction.
Keefe particularly commended the efforts Vucic is investing in good relations with neighbouring countries, said a statement released by the Serbian government.
Vucic congratulated Keefe on the formation of the new government of the UK, which he said was a significant partner of Serbia.
Serbia will continue its cooperation with the UK and strengthen bilateral relations, Vucic told Keefe, who congratulated him on the upcoming opening of two new chapters in Serbia’s EU accession talks.
