BELGRADE – Serbia and Republika Srpska (RS) will on August 4 together commemorate the anniversary of the 1995 expulsion of Serbs from the then Srpska Krajina and Croatia, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said Thursday.
“We will commemorate the plight of our people in a dignified way, without calling for revenge or conflicts, but life and understanding the past,” Vucic told a joint press conference with Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik.
Vucic announced the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the first prisoners in the Gradina section of the WWII Jasenovac death camp in the Independent State of Croatia would also be commemorated on August 19.
Vucic said that he would visit the Herzegovina part of RS in August to see how Serbia could help its economic development.
The discussions with Dodik on further improvement of cooperation and relations between Republika Srpska and Serbia were good, Vucic said, noting that joint projects were progressing well.
