BELGRADE – With Viva Vox’s unique a capella renditions of popular hits, Rudimental’s groovy beats and, of course, a huge selection of beers, the 14th edition of Beer Fest – southeastern Europe’s biggest festival of beer and music – kicked off in Belgrade’s Usce Park on Wednesday.

Even though an afternoon rainstorm had threatened to bring a repeat of the atmosphere at last year’s festival, the clear-skied opening night turned was one of merriment for those attending.

Also performing were Counterfate, Electro Quartet, Croatia’s Elemental and Let 3, as well as a James Brown tribute act.

The five-day festival will feature around 40 performers, with organisers expecting to welcome 500,000-700,000 visitors, including around 20,000 foreigners.
