BELGRADE – Great drama artist Mira Stupica died last night at the age of 93, about three hours after midnight in the home for the elderly in Zemun.

The actress suffered a severe stroke but failed to recover, reports Serbian daily “Blic”. Just two days ago she celebrated her 93rd birthday.

Stupica received the most prestigious awards, and she was also named the actress of the twentieth century.

She left an autobiographical book “A handful of salt” in which, writing about her life and career, she had also written an impressive image of an era.
