BELGRADE – Serbia is building its women’s basketball history one win at a time and now leaves Rio with a historic victory. The Serbs are leaving their first Olympics with a bronze medal.

The Serbians rode a big third quarter to the win Saturday, which concludes an incredible medal run for a team that was considered a long shot entering Rio.

This is the first Olympic medal in women’s basketball for Serbia as an independent country, and it comes in the country’s first appearance.
