BELGRADE – Maximum restraint will remain our policy in the future despite continued anti-Serbian policies in some countries of the region, PM Aleksandar Vucic said Monday after meeting with foreign ambassadors in Belgrade to discuss heightened tensions in the region.
We will pursue that policy because we are not afraid of our future if we can work, but as PM of Serbia I am quite afraid and concerned we might have to deal with things other than work and economic progress, Vucic said.
He said he hoped the government would back this position even though Deputy PM and FM Ivica Dacic had not fully agreed with it.
Stability and peace are vital interests for Serbia and Serbs, he said.
Incidents targeting Serbia and Serbs have nothing to do with electoral campaigns in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, “but with continued policies against our country”, Vucic said.
