BELGRADE – Serbia is making efforts towards peace in the region and it will not return to the past in the way evident in some countries that are pursuing an anti-Serb policy and provoking Serbia, threatening regional peace and stability, says FM Ivica Dacic.

Serbia’s top officials, the government and the president are very openly in favour of peace and stability in the region, a continued reconciliation process and finding common interests, Dacic told Deutsche Welle.

There are no solutions to be had with the “everyone loves everyone” pattern, but we all live in this region, we have similar histories and similar problems, Dacic said, noting that economic stabilisation was the top objective shared by all countries.

The EU should recognise that the Western Balkan nations’ European path is what is keeping them together and encouraging regional stability, he said.
