BELGRADE – Montenegro has recognised Kosovo as an independent state and now they are in a dispute over a part of a territory that belongs to neither, but to Serbia, the chairman of the Serbian parliamentary committee on Kosovo-Metohija Milovan Drecun said Friday.

The Kosovo government Thursday withdrew a proposed agreement on border demarcation with Montenegro after Srpska list representatives had not attended a meeting of the Kosovo assembly for security reasons.

Ethnic Albanian protesters who gathered outside the assembly greeted the decision to pull the agreement from the agenda with chants of “Victory,” but there were no incidents.

Montenegrin PM Milo Djukanovic has done all he could against the interest of Serbia and the Serbian nation – including recognising Kosovo, which was the biggest blow – and he must now face the consequences, Drecun told Sputnik.
