BELGRADE – There can be no referendum in Serbia’s Vojvodina province as those who are proposing a referendum do not have the majority for the decision to call one, Serbian FM Ivica Dacic said Friday.
Commenting on the Republika Srpska (RS) referendum, Dacic said Bakir Izetbegovic – the Bosniak member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency – was now talking about the RS referendum whereas his Party of Democratic Action had organised a referendum in Serbia’s Sandzak region in 1991.
“The international community shed no tears over that referendum like it does now because of RS,” Dacic said.
Speaking about a unification of Kosovo and Albania, Dacic stressed it was excellent the issue had emerged so the international community could see Serbia had been right in warning against this.
Kosovo and Albania will not organise that until they get a nod from someone in the West, he added.
