BELGRADE – Internet websites and services across the East Coast of the United States were shut down earlier on Friday after a massive cyberattack and subsequent warnings of a possible second attack, the US media reported.

The Department of Homeland Security stated that it is looking into all potential causes of the attack.

“The Internet traffic company Dyn on Friday warned of another cyberattack after websites and services across the East Coast were shut down earlier in the day,” CNBC said on Friday. Many prominent websites including Amazon, Twitter and Spotify were shut down for nearly two hours in the morning, the report noted.

“Our engineers continue to monitor and investigate the issue,” Dyn stated on its website.
