BELGRADE – Serbia is not changing its policy at this time and it will not change it regardless of requests or messages from Brussels or Moscow, says PM Aleksandar Vucic.
“Serbia is on the European path, that is Serbia’s strategic goal and task. Serbia will not be imposing sanctions on Russia. Full stop,” Vucic said in an interview to Tanjug after Brussels urged Belgrade to align its policy on Russia with the EU, while Moscow warned that Serbia’s EU membership would result in a loss of economic privileges in its ties with Russia.
“The more we improve our economy, the better our position will be,” Vucic said, adding that the situation was indeed difficult and that there was pressure from everywhere, but that Serbia was able to withstand it.
Vucic said he believed Serbia would never have to choose between Russia and the EU.
