NOVI SAD – Novi Sad was named the 2019 European Youth Capital in Varna, Bulgaria, on Wednesday evening.

“After winning the 2021 European Culture Capital title, Novi Sad won again in Varna, Bulgaria, and we were named the 2019 European Youth Capital. A double for Novi Sad”, Mayor Milos Vucevic told Tanjug.

“This is a big deal for Novi Sad, a big deal for young people, a big deal for the university city. We will have two years of extraordinarily beautiful events, but also before and after that. Congratulations to the people of Novi Sad – above all, to young people and youth associations and organizations”, stressed Vucevic.

Novi Sad was declared the 2021 European Culture Capital in Brussels a month ago, becoming the only European city to hold both of the prestigious titles at the same time.
