BELGRADE – Reconstruction works at the National Museum in Belgrade are in full swing – the roof has been relaid with copper and all is proceeding as planned, even faster than we had expected, and I hope the reconstruction will be complete in late January 2018, Serbian Culture Minister Vladan Vukosavljevic said during a tour of the works on Friday.

“After the reconstruction of the National Museum, curators will need a few months to set up an exhibition and I hope we will open our most significant national museum to visitors in 2018,” he said.

“Last August, I had a meeting with the culture minister of China, and he pledged to do everything to ensure the first major international exhibition at a reconstructed National Museum in Belgrade is one from the National Museum of China, which would be an unprecedented event for Serbia and the region,” Vukosavljevic said.
