BELGRADE – Republican Mike Rogers presented a resolution in the House of Representatives seeking full US withdrawal from the UN, as well as moving the headquarters of the organization from New York.
Rogers and other republicans have several times pointed out that American taxpayers should not pay for an organization that does not promote the interests of the United States.
The resolution, which was proposed on January 3, passed under the radar of the media and the public, and in case it is adopted it will take two years for its implementation.
“The President should terminate membership of the United States in the United Nations, in each body, agency, commission or some other body of the UN. The US Mission to the UN should be closed,” says the resolution.
Rogers tried to push the same resolution in 2015 but without success.
