BELGRADE – Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic said Thursday Belgrade would request Ramus Haradinaj’s extradition from France.
“You bet we are going to request it,” Vucic told reporters at a press conference when asked about a potential extradition of Haradinaj, against whom an international arrest warrant has been issued.
It is good that law is above politics, Vucic said, adding he would not like to find this to be otherwise in France.
Our prosecutor’s office has ample, damning evidence and it would be very unusual if France acted according to political views rather than law, he said.
Haradinaj is a man who has been charged with “so many crimes, from Glodjane to the Radonjic Lake,” Vucic said.
Haradinaj, a former ICTY indictee who is now president of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, was arrested by French border police at the Basel-Mulhouse airport on Wednesday.
