Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) Belgrade have won the Radivoj Korac basketball cup after beating cross-town rivals Partizan 74-64 (23-23, 13-11, 16-13, 22-17).

The final game was played late on Sunday in Nis, a town in southern Serbia, Tanjug has reported.

“In an electric atmosphere at a packed Cair Hall, Marko Guduric and Marko Simonovic led Red Star to the ninth national cup title with 18 points each, while American Dion Thompson added 15,” the agency said.

This is Red Star’s first trophy this season, and the sixth national cup title overall – a new record for the club.
