BELGRADE – Former British Ambassador to Yugoslavia Ivor Roberts believes that “Serbia and Kosovo should exchange territories” because, according to him, it is the only way to achieve lasting peace.

As Serbian daily “Vecernje Novosti” writes, during the presentation of his book “Conversations with Milosevic” at the London School of
Economics, Roberts said that multiethnical states are an ideal, but that in practice the exchange of Presevo valley in Serbia for the
territory of Kosovo north of the river Ibar could be a way to stabilize relations and to ensure that Serbia recognizes the independent state of Kosovo.

He also said that the exit of the Republika Srpska from Bosnia and Herzegovina would be hard to realize, “having in mind the Serbian
ambivalence toward the idea, as well as the strong opposition of Bosniaks”.
